How a combined makeover works

Which finish, which deck.

The short version of the questions we get most. Every pool and slab is different, so treat this as a starting point, not a rule.

Pool finishes

FinishUnderfootWorth knowing
PlasterSmoothestClassic white look; most sensitive to water chemistry.
QuartzSmooth, slight gritMore color choices; usually holds up better than plain plaster.
PebbleTexturedHides stains well and tends to last longest; rougher on feet.

Questions people ask

How long does a pool resurfacing or deck project take?

It depends on the scope, the weather and the condition of the pool and slab. A simple resurface is usually a matter of days, while a full pool and deck makeover takes longer. Rain delays are normal in South Florida. We give a realistic window once we have seen photos or the property.

Can we stay in the house during the work?

Usually, yes. Expect noise, crews in the yard and limited use of the pool and deck. Some tasks, such as grinding or pressure washing, are loud and dusty. If you have pets, small kids or work from home, tell us when you send photos so we can plan around it.

Do I have to drain the pool for resurfacing?

For a new interior finish, yes, the pool is normally emptied. South Florida has a high water table, so draining needs a plan around the weather and ground conditions. An empty pool can be pushed up by groundwater. Never drain it on your own before talking to a contractor.

Do I need HOA approval before work starts?

Often, yes, especially if you are changing a deck material, a paver color or a pool finish color. Many HOAs, condo boards and gated communities have review rules and limits on work hours. Ask your association for its process early, since approvals can take longer than the job.

Do I need a permit for a pool or deck project?

That is decided by your city or county building department, and it depends on the scope of work. A simple finish replacement is different from structural or deck changes. We confirm the requirements for your address before work begins, so you are not guessing.

What should I send to get a quote?

Send a few clear photos of the pool, the waterline tile, the coping and the deck, plus the address. Mention the pool's age, any known leaks, and whether you want the deck done too. Then request a quote. We will tell you what we can see and what a visit would settle.
